Trail of Lies
The blockbuster telenovela Trail of Lies, has been licensed to Public Television of Armenia. The TV channel is an open broadcasting company in the country and a longstanding Globo partner, having already successfully broadcast Side by Side and The Life We Lead.
Trail of Lies, full of intrigue, romance and revenge, reaches the Armenian screens dubbed in the local language and promises to enthral its viewers. The telenovela has already shown its potential for entertaining Brazilian viewers. The story had an overall average rating of 36 points and 61% share in Globo primetime. Its final episode audience rating was 48 points and 75% share (Source: Ibope) – three in every four households were tuned into Globo to watch the last episode of the telenovela.
Written by Walcyr Carrasco, author of several blockbusters, such as the remake of Gabriela and The Thorn and the Rose, Trail of Lies has already been licensed to Argentina (Telefé), Ecuador (Ecuavisa), Chile (Canal 13) and Bolivia (Unitel). Its comic characters were also wagers of programmers from the USA (MundoFox), Poland (TVN) and Mozambique (Soico). The telenovela also reached audiences in Portugal where it was shown by SIC and ranked as one of the top ten most watched programmes in the country.
Trail of Lies is set in the wealthy bustling city of São Paulo and tells the story of Paloma (Paolla Oliveira, Irrational Heart), a headstrong woman whose newborn baby is kidnapped by her own brother Felix (Mateus Solano, Seize the Day), who plans to be sole heir to the family fortune. In turn, Bruno (Malvino Salvador, Looks & Essence), an honest man, who loses his own wife and child that very same evening, miraculously discovers Paloma’s baby abandoned in a garbage skip. Destiny will bring them together in a tale of secrets, revelations and disputes, with unpredictable consequences of lives built around a dangerous and surprising web of lies.
