Singapore –Taiwan Broadband Communications (TBC) announced that it selected the E6000™ Converged Edge Router (CER) from ARRIS Group, Inc. (NASDAQ: ARRS) to ensure its subscribers in Taiwan receive enhanced broadband speeds and converged services.
Deployment of the ARRIS E6000 CER will begin in November to deliver new levels of density and cost-effectiveness in a simple, robust integrated architecture. The ARRIS E6000 CER will equip TBC to offer high-speed data services of 1Gbps and beyond. The platform supports converged data/video services, while also positioning them strategically for the future of DOCSIS 3.1.
“We are focused on offering a seamless and compelling suite of media and communication products to our customers today and tomorrow. We chose the ARRIS E6000 CER for its capability to deliver more services at faster speeds while lowering costs per channel,” said Thomas Ee, Chief Executive Officer, TBC. “We are delighted to build on our 10-year relationship with ARRIS, whom we trust to deliver a high-performing and reliable service for our customers.”
“TBC is a valued, long-term customer of ARRIS in Taiwan, and we’re proud that they continue to turn to us for their IP content delivery needs. As a CCAP solution, the ARRIS E6000 CER will enable TBC to stay competitive with changing subscriber demands and requirements – reducing its operating costs without compromising on quality and performance,” said Tim Gropp, Senior Vice President, Asia Pacific, ARRIS.
TBC is the only CableLabs member amongst the major MSOs in Taiwan and by supporting DOCSIS 3.1 as a new international standard TBC will help to bring Taiwanese customers in line with other advanced cable operators globally.
TBC joins an ever-expanding list of global service providers that have chosen the ARRIS E6000 CER to enhance their services, deploy a scalable network platform and realise significant operational savings.
