Nemo Planet Inc.’s new reality music competition series Birth of a Band (13×90’) will feature Genesis Rock Legend Mike Rutherford. The series will also be available as a format.
Using the web as a global casting platform, contestants from 6 instrumental/vocal categories will be selected. Rock legends, led by Rutherford, will access each band’s skills and reduce the contestants to 54, who will then enter a 24/7 camera filled environment that will be streamed on an online platform.
These musicians will be under the mentorship of the rock legend judges who will share their experience and journey to these aspiring young musicians. The show will offer insights I to the rock stars’ past, as demonstrated in Mike Rutherford’s recently published book, The Living Years, relating the journey of a musician forming a band. Other fellow rock legends will share secrets as they mentor upcoming talent.

Each week the teams will perform on linear television to battle for the most votes. Through a process of online-voting-elimination and reshuffling of band members, the final 2 teams will compete for a career changing opportunity as a support act for a major band and the rocker judges for a monumental event/ceremony.
