BBC Worldwide will present 16 new formats at MIPCOM 2014 including new entertainment format Tumble and will be joined in Cannes by legendary five-time Gold medal Olympic gymnast Nadia Comăneci.
BBC Worldwide announced three new format sales ahead of launching prime-time entertainment format Tumble at Mipcom 2014.
A deal with Acunmedya in Turkey brings the total sales of The Great Bake Off to fifteen, Channel 8 will produce 35×60’ episodes of the popular entertainment format to air next month. The Great Bake Off is made by Love Productions who also produce Make Bradford British and My Last Summer which have been sold to the Netherlands. Make Bradford British has been snapped up by Netherlands BNN-VARA to air on Ned 1 while the My Last Summer format has been sold to broadcaster RTL.
This month at MIPCOM, BBC Worldwide will launch entertainment format Tumble which sees celebrities being paired with experts to take part in gymnastic challenges and being pushed to their physical limits. Produced by BBC Entertainment, it is a shiny-floor family TV show bringing together music, glamour, celebrities and competition inspired by the world of circus and gymnastics. Head judge of the UK version and legendary five-time Gold medal Olympic gymnast, Nadia Comăneci will be in Cannes along with Katie Taylor, UK Controller of Entertainment Production at BBC and Rachel Arnold, Tumble’s Executive Producer.

As well as Tumble, BBC Worldwide will present an additional 15 new formats to buyers at MIPCOM. Highlights include comedy entertainment format Bad Bridesmaid where a brave bride has to convince her wedding party that a new and completely mad bridesmaid is an old friend, who has come back into her life to help plan (and most likely ruin) her hen party; and Your Home in their Hands, a transformational property makeover series which sees four aspiring home decorators let loose on the interiors of two homes. Scripted formats on the MIPCOM slate include comedy series Moone Boy which follows a young boy growing up in a chaotic and creative household in the late 1980s; Inside Men which is a thrilling drama about three employees of a security depot who plan and execute a multimillion pound cash heist and finally science-fiction series Orphan Black which has been a critically acclaimed success for BBC America.
