TRACE Group is celebrating additional growth in Africa, as it announced a deal extension with TVCABO, one of Angola and Mozambique’s leading pay-TV operators. The agreement continues TRACE African expansion, following recent announcements of new music channel TRACE Toca also in Angola and Mozambique, plus a new deal with Montage and the appointment of their new COO for Africa, with more news to be communicated soon.
TRACE Urban renews its agreement with TVCABO, whilst TRACE Urban French feed and TRACE Sport Stars will launch for the first time on the platform.
TRACE Urban – the international hip-hop and R&B music channel and TRACE Sport Stars – the first global entertainment channel dedicated to sport celebrities – will be made available to TVCABO subscribers via its own packages.
The new offer includes the majority of TVCABO customers, thanks to the increasing number of Basic Package subscriptions, which offer an excellent relation between price and content quality.
João Botelho, TVCABO Administrator commented, “The two new channels will answer even more effectively and in a diversified way to our viewers’ preferences, reinforcing the music, lifestyle and urban culture proposals, with TRACE Urban, and reinforcing the sports proposals with TRACE Sport Stars, which is devoted exclusively to the life of famous athletes”.
Laurent Dumeau, CEO TRACE Sport Stars and SVP Distribution, said, “We are excited to be extending our footprint even further in Africa. With an ever-increasing demand for the TRACE brand in African regions and for unique sport, entertainment and music programming, we are confident this agreement will help TVCABO strengthen their position in the Angolan and Mozambican markets by delivering engaging and exciting content to their growing subscriber base”.
The new deal with TVCABO continues TRACE group African dominance across the continent, where the TRACE brand is deemed number 1 in many countries.
Commenting further on TRACE in Africa, Dumeau said, “Africa remains a number one priority for TRACE, as the continent grows we want to grow with it hence the importance of further distribution and new business launches.”
