BOOM! made its international debut in Spain on Antena 3, becoming the most-watched show of the night (all audiences u55) and five nights into the series it continues to build on its average audience with every episode. The audience grew to its largest so far – an impressive 16.0% average share which is an increase of 32% on the channel’s slot average.
BOOM!’s launch episode attracted a 15.6% average audience share, an increase of some 29% on the channel’s slot average, before peaking with a share of 17% as more viewers tuned in to see final few tension-filled minutes. It was particularly popular with younger viewers and saw off stiff competition from the European Championship football game between Spain and Austria, along with long-running quiz and magazine shows on rival channels.
Stripped Monday to Friday, BOOM! gained a 15.1% share on September 10, a 15.4% share on 11 September and 15.6% on September 12.
The leading Kazakhstani channel, Channel SEVEN (Dancing with the Stars, The Star Factory) has become the next to buy into the format. A 34 episode series is scheduled to air this autumn and will be produced by Arai Production.
Channel SEVEN joins FOX in the US, TV2 in Hungary, VTM in Belgium and TF1 in France which will each begin airing the show soon. Five further territories have also picked up the format and will be announced shortly.
