Singapore – MediaCorp won three top awards at the 2nd Asia Rainbow TV Awards 2014 held in Macau on June 26, and a creative win at the recent 2014 Apollo Awards, both are regional awards that honours the best in TV production.
Channel 8 drama, C.L.I.F. 2, a story about the lives of a group of policemen, won Best Action Drama. The Journey: A Voyage, a 2013 year-end blockbuster about the lives of Singapore’s early immigrants took home the Outstanding Scriptwriter Award and was nominated in the Best Director and Best Historical Drama categories, making the drama a clear favourite for award shows across the region.

Channel NewsAsia also bagged the Outstanding TV Documentary for Nature & Environment for Surviving Haiyan.
MediaCorp also garnered several nominations for its variety programmes, Finding U was nominated for Best Entertainment Programme, Game & Quiz Show, while its hosts Kym Ng and Ben Yeo were nominated in the Best TV Entertainment Programme Host category. Quan Yi Fong, winner of 2011’s Best TV Entertainment Programme Host for Life Transformers 2, was nominated again for her hosting skills in Love On A Plate 2.
Asia Rainbow TV Awards, co-organised by the Hong Kong Televisioners Association and the TV Production Committee of China Radio & TV Academy, aims primarily at promoting the development of Asian TV production in Asia as well as internationally.
At the 2014 Apollo Awards, MediaCorp won Best Music Composition – Full Length Versions for The Journey: A Voyage. This is the first time MediaCorp participated in the Music Composition category at the award show, which recognises the best in production and post-production across Asia Pacific, especially the creative and technical forces behind-the-scenes.

The Journey: A Voyage, was also nominated in the Colour Grading and Sound Design – Long Form categories. Other nominations include Sudden for Music Composition – Full Length Versions and There Was a Time for Art Direction at the Apollo Awards.
