Vienna/Zurich – Liberty Global announced on July 29 organisational changes to its operations in Austria and Switzerland. As of August 1, Eric Tveter, currently Managing Director of upc cablecom, has been appointed CEO of the newly created Swiss and Austrian region of Liberty Global, based in Zurich. Effective the same date, Thomas Hintze, currently Managing Director of UPC Austria, has been appointed chairman of UPC Austria and senior advisor reporting to Tveter.

In recent years, the Liberty Global group has significantly grown in size, requiring a further rebalancing of its organisational structure. The announced change will enable the operations in Austria and Switzerland to join forces with a focus on the unique customer needs in both markets, benefitting from economies of scale and providing opportunities to explore further regional cooperation.
