Amsterdam/Warsaw – Liberty Global announced on June that Ramiro Lafarga Brollo, currently CEO of O2 Slovakia, part of the Telefonica group, will be appointed as Managing Director of UPC Poland as per July 1. In this role, he will assume all day to day operating responsibilities of UPC Poland, following the retirement of Simon Boyd in late 2013.
As CEO of mobile operator O2 Slovakia, Lafarga Brollo has had overall responsibility for the activities of O2 in the Slovak Republic since 2011 and grew its activities significantly in the past few years with a strong customer focus. Before this role, Lafarga Brollo was active in numerous marketing and sales functions in Latin America. Since 2002 he held several senior positions in the Telefonica Group, incl. commercial director for Telefonica Chile and Telefonica Sao Paulo (Brazil), as well as commercial director and customer director at Movistar Chile. Lafarga Brollo holds Argentinian and Italian nationalities.
