BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm of the BBC, announced on June 4 the appointment of Andrew Bott as the company’s CFO, with immediate effect. He has been acting in the role since the departure of Philip Vincent, previously CFO, in December 2013.

Bott’s most recent role was as CFO of BBC Worldwide North America, since 2007. In this role he was in charge of financial reporting, financial planning and analysis, treasury, tax, financial strategy, and risk-management activities for BBC Worldwide North America. In 2013 he also took on financial responsibility for BBC Worldwide Global Advertising Sales. He joined BBC Worldwide in 1998 and held a number of roles in BBC Worldwide, first in London, before moving to New York.

He became ACA qualified in 1994, with Price Waterhouse, and before joining BBC Worldwide worked in divisional finance for Pearson plc.

As acting CFO, Bott became a director of BBC Worldwide and he will continue to sit on the Board.
