Singapore – Organised in collaboration with SingTel mio TV, the second edition of the Nickelodeon Slime Cup attracted more than 8,000 kids and families over the weekend, June 7-8 at United Square Shopping Mall, the main partner. Supporting partners for the event included Super Kids Vitamin Gummy, Nestle Koko Krunch, F-17 and Families for Life. Approximately 10,000 litres of Nickelodeon’s signature green slime were produced for this year’s Nickelodeon Slime Cup, the slimiest integrated sports festival in Singapore. With slime being a main ingredient to a number of the sports-oriented activities, the slime-tastic event aims to encourage kids and their families to bond and get active through play.
The main highlight of the Nickelodeon Slime Cup was the first-ever Nickelodeon Dad’s Challenge, which was organised to create an opportunity to celebrate in advance of Father’s Day next weekend. The Nickelodeon Dad’s Challenge saw over 50 father and child teams pit their skills against each other in seven sessions, as they raced to complete challenges at booths located around the mall. Winning teams received exclusive goodie bags, trophies, limited edition merchandise from SingTel mio TV as well as the highly coveted “Nickelodeon Dad” title.
Nickelodeon Dad’s Challenge
As part of a global drive to encourage active living through quirky fun games and activities, Nickelodeon introduced the global Victory Dance Competition to this year’s Nickelodeon Slime Cup. Children in Singapore can take part in the global campaign to win their very own Slime Cup trophy through the global Victory Dance Challenge where one overall winner will be selected from each market. Already, the onsite Victory Dance Photo-booth saw over 700 children in Singapore show off their grooviest dance moves at United Square Shopping Mall for a chance to win the ultimate Slime Cup trophy.
From now till July 5 at 8am, children below 17 years of age can also submit their video entries to www.slimecup.com. The top five finalists from each region will be announced on July 18. From July 19 at 8am through August 4 at 8am, fans will have the chance to vote for their favourite Victory Dance and the final winners will be announced on or around August 16 on www.slimecup.com. Parental consent required and entries must be submitted by the child’s parent or guardian.

Highlights of the ten-day family fun sports festival included:
- Meet-and-greet sessions with Nickelodeon’s hit characters fromSpongeBob SquarePants, Dora the Explorer, Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtlesand Go, Diego, Go!
- An All-Star Opening at the finale where Nickelodeon characters showed up to cheer on dads and their children with a special edition of the Nickelodeon Dad’s Challenge where each father and child team raced to complete challenges at booths around the mall.
- F-17 hosted soccer clinics, along with the 1-on-1 Street Futsal Tournament where winners walked away with exclusive medals and prizes from Nickelodeon and SingTel mio TV. Close to 50kids had the opportunity to take part in the 1-on-1 Street Futsal Tournament.
- Sports-oriented games booths that tested participants’ agility and flair for adventure such as The Grand Obstacle Kicks and the Turtles Epic Throwdown.
- Participants got in on the action in a number of outdoor activities featuring Nickelodeon’s iconic green slime, such as the SpongeButt WetPants game, getting drenched by slime in the one-and-only SlimeFall and going through the Rad-Awesome Limbo activity which required participants to cross a pool filled with slime balls.
Nickelodeon Slime Cup is organised as part of the global Nickelodeon Slime Cup campaign, for kids to get active and celebrate all things Nickelodeon. It gives kids from around the world an exciting new way to root for their favourite Nickelodeon stars. Four teams consisting of some of the most popular Nickelodeon characters will be battling it out to take home the coveted prize – the Nickelodeon Slime Cup trophy.
Kids can visit www.slimecup.com to pick a team and show their support by collecting slime through fun online activities such as games, polls and more. On June 9 at 12pm, some of your favourite Nickelodeon stars will battle it out in a two-hour special TV event The Nickelodeon Slime Cup Challenge. In August, kids can also tune in to the Nickelodeon Slime Cup Tournament of Champions to watch their favourite stars go head-to-head in the final special televised challenge. Following the Nickelodeon Slime Cup Tournament of Champions, the final slime count will be tabulated and the winner of the Nickelodeon Slime Cup will be revealed.
