Singapore – Singapore Telecommunications Ltd (SingTel) announced the launch of English news channel, News 18 India (Channel 677) on SingTel mio TV on April 7. Created to give global audiences the full picture of what is happening in India, the 24-hour channel will be available to all Desi+ and Kondattam+ customers at no additional charge.
From April 7 until May 5, all SingTel mio TV customers will enjoy complimentary access to News 18 India’s range of quality programming, including extensive coverage of the 2014 Indian General Elections, award-winning newscasts, economic affairs coverage and even special Bollywood programming.
News 18 India is the international version of CNN-IBN, one of India’s leading English news channels. The channel focuses on the latest political, business, entertainment, sports and lifestyle news from India. Together with the existing Times Now (Channel 676) news channel, SingTel mio TV will provide in-depth coverage of news and daily news and events in India.

Rounding out the offering on the channel is the award-winning evening newscast India at 9. Hosted by India’s leading television journalist, Rajdeep Sardesai, the programme offers a daily round-up of the most discussed news stories and is the most watched evening newscast in India.
