Korea’s KT partners with Red Bull Media House

Seoul, South Korea – South Korea’s largest telecommunications company, KT, has formed its first partnership with global media company Red Bull Media House — a deal that will deliver 150 long-form video-on-demand titles for KT’s Olleh TV service.

Olleh TV is the biggest IPTV player in South Korea, with over five million subscribers, around 70 percent of the market share and the country’s largest number of TV channels. Premium Red Bull Media House titles in categories such as sports, lifestyle and documentary were selected to appeal to a wide range of Olleh TV viewers, and the high quality of the programming is an especially good match for the service’s leadership in providing high definition programmes throughout the region.

Red Bull Media House productions take viewers up close and behind the scenes to share fascinating, real-life stories that engage audiences of all interests. Highlights of the programming that subscribers will be able to enjoy on Olleh TV’s SVOD service include Mission to the Edge of Space, a documentary on the historic Red Bull Stratos mission featuring never-before-seen footage and interviews with “supersonic man” Felix Baumgartner and his team; the Extreme CollXtion magazine programme that brings together the best of action sports each week; and series like Break’n Reality, which provides a rare look into the private and personal worlds of top breakdancers, and eXplorers – Adventures of the Century, which profiles a dozen of the world’s most extraordinary adventurers as they brave previously unexplored challenges on land, sea and sky.
