“It’s remarkable how the image and personality of the character created by Charlie Chaplin — his unmistakeable walk, toothbrush moustache and silly, childlike antics — are so identifiable around the world. That built-in recognisability has been the key to Chaplin & Co.’s global success,” said Philippe Soutter, president of PGS Entertainment. “Method has done such wonderful job of capturing that irresistible charm that once broadcasters see the animated character, they’re hooked. We’re thrilled that this series continues to be so well-received in so many diverse territories.”
Chaplin & Co. is based on the antics of the silent-film-era star Charlie Chaplin, a dreamer and kid trapped in an adult body. Multi-award-winning producer Method Animation updates Chaplin’s slapstick humour for today’s kids through masterful use of CGI that is inspired by classic cartoons, such as Mister Magoo and Tom & Jerry.
