RTL5 has commissioned Ik Ben Een Ster, Haal Me Hier Uit! (8 x 60’) to be produced in Dutch-speaking Suriname, in South America. It will launch in spring 2014 in the Netherlands.
This follows the annual ITV Studios Formats 2014 event, at which ITVS GE’s new formats slate was presented to an audience of over 100 buyers from around the world.
Tobias de Graff, Director of Global Television Distribution for ITV Studios Global Entertainment, said: “I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! has continued its reign as the most-watched TV show in the U.K. and Germany, with the latest series smashing ratings records. Watching celebrities swap their lifestyles for the horrors of the jungle makes for compulsive viewing, and we’re delighted that Dutch viewers will get the opportunity to see their celebrities take on the challenge!”
The thirteenth series of I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! launched on ITV in the U.K. to 13.5 million viewers, making it the most watched programme of 2013 on any channel and the biggest launch in the show’s history. The series averaged 11.1 million viewers, the best ever ratings. It also won Best Entertainment Programme at the National Television Awards. The show is also an enormous hit in Germany, where it is the most-watched format among 14-49 year olds. The eighth series aired on RTL to an average audience of 7.95 million viewers and a 39.5% share, its best-rated series in 10 years.
I’m A Celebrity… Get Me Out Of Here! sees celebrities dropped into a remote rainforest and compete to be crowned King or Queen of the Jungle. To win food and treats, they must undertake challenges such as bush tucker trials or physical tasks involving creatures, creepy crawlies or snakes. The celebrities must battle through the excruciating tasks and the emotional turmoil of living together in this gripping, hilarious and shocking reality show.
The deal was negotiated by Phil Sequiera, Senior Sales Executive, NW EMEA for ITV Studios Global Entertainment.
