Tokyo, Japan – Nippon Television Network Corporation (Nippon TV), the commercial broadcaster and network in Japan offering entertainment, anime, documentaries and news, announced on March 24 that the company will be attending the upcoming MIPTV Convention with five new titles, including the brand new format Mansion Madness (60’), two animated series La corda d’oro – Blue Sky (12 x 30’) and The World Is Still Beautiful (12 x 30’), the cultural documentary Ebizo Ichikawa Reinvents The Kabuki World (1 x 150’), and the drama series Hanasaki Mai Speaks Out (60’ series). Additionally, the company noted that its newest format Mansion Madness will be showcased for the first time on April 6 at MIPFormats as part of Treasure Box Japan, the cooperative effort between eight major Japanese broadcasters to highlight “Made In Japan” TV formats.

Ebizo Ichikawa Reinvents The Kabuki World
First up for Nippon TV is Mansion Madness, the brand new format that tests your knowledge, wisdom, and patience, but above all, whether or not you have what it takes to come out on top in this game of the “Survival of the Wittest”. In La corda d’oro – Blue Sky, twelve handsome boys and one girl spend a summer giving everything they’ve got to win a music competition. This is a story of youth, music and love. A must-see love story, The World is Still Beautiful, is a series about a woman whose singing voice brings forth rain and the Sun King. Together, they create a world that is beautiful. Next up is the alluring documentary Ebizo Ichikawa Reinvents The Kabuki World that follows charismatic young actor Ebizo as he explains the beauty and future of Kabuki, the classical Japanese performance art. Rounding out the five titles from Nippon TV is the drama series Hanasaki Mai Speaks Out which is about a young female bank employee who daringly stands up against the powerful people in her company on behalf of her oppressed colleagues.
