Globo is opening the signal of its international channels in Latin America, the United States, Japan, and Portugal (Globo Premium) during the biggest street festival of Brazil. In addition to watching the programming of Globo’s international channel totally free of charge, fans of Brazilian culture can also watch the Carnival parades. The free preview is an agreement between the Brazilian channel and DirecTV, Claro TV Paraguay, and GTD (Chile), in Latin America, Verizon, with exclusivity in the United States, FiberTV, in Japan, and all Portuguese operators.
With the partnerships, Globo’s international channel will remain open until March 1 in Latin America and March 2 in the United States, allowing the public to watch the parade of the São Paulo Carnival. In Japan and on the Globo Premium channel in Portugal, the free preview runs until March 5, showing the big parades of Rio de Janeiro, São Paulo, Salvador, and the “Galo da Madrugada” in Recife.
After this period, to continue enjoying the channel, whose programming comprises of famous telenovelas, series, journalistic programs, children’s content, sports, and soccer totally in Portuguese, those interested can subscribe to the channel through the operators.
Globo’s international channel in the Americas is offered as premium a la carte from DirecTV, Claro TV Paraguay, GTD, and Verizon. In Japan, it is available for subscription through FiberTV. In Portugal, Globo Premium is available through the ZON, MEO, Cabovisão, Optimus Clix, and Vodafone Casa TV platforms.
