London – Eros International plc (“Eros”) announced that it topped the UK box office for Indian films for the calendar year 2013 with four out of the top ten films released by the Company. Eros amassed US$ 9.07 million (UK £5.47 million) at the UK box office in 2013, capturing 33% of the market.

Out of the 130 Indian films (Hindi, Tamil, Malayalam and Punjabi) that hit the theatres in 2013, 42 films belonged to Eros and its subsidiary Ayngaran, which distributes Tamil films overseas.

Eros was also number one at the UK Bollywood Box Office with a market share of 26% (US$ 7.0 million; UK£ 4.20 million).

Looking to continue this trend in calendar year 2014, Eros seeks to further enhance its market share with highly awaited films such as the recently released Jai Ho and the upcoming Shaadi Ke Side Effects, and Action Jackson due for release in the first half of 2014.
