Los Angeles– RGH Entertainment, a subsidiary of Rubicon Group Holding (RGH) headquartered in Amman, has announced its slate of three animated feature films for the 2013 American Film Market in Santa Monica, California.
Headlining the slate is the upcoming CG 3-D stereoscopic feature film Postman Pat: The Movie. The film is now in production and will open wide across the UK May 23, 2014. At AFM, Ilyssa Goodman, Director of Distribution at RGH, will be managing sales of the film in North America. Timeless Films is managing worldwide sales with Icon Film Distribution, Lionsgate UK releasing the film in the UK.
Postman Pat: The Movie
Produced by RGH and DreamWorks Classics, the film’s voice cast is led by actor Stephen Mangan (Episodes, Green Wing, Dirk Gently) as Postman Pat, along with Academy Award and BAFTA Award Winner Jim Broadbent (Iris, Moulin Rouge!), Rupert Grint, who achieved international fame as Ron Weasley in the Harry Potter film series, and David Tennant (Doctor Who, Harry Potter).
Postman Pat: The Movie is directed by Mike Disa (Hoodwinked Too! Hood vs. Evil) from a screen play co-written by the award-winning Kim Fuller (Spice World, High Heels & Low Lifes) and Annika Bluhm, the long-time Producer of the Postman Pat television series.
The Santa Story, now in production for a 2015 holiday season release in CG 3-D stereoscopic, will be represented by Ed Noelter’s CMG. Inspired by the book, Life and Adventures of Santa Claus, authored by L. Frank Baum, the creator of The Wizard of Oz, the film tells the story of a young boy who overcomes the odds to become one of the most beloved characters the world has ever known.
The Santa Story is directed by Anthony Bell (Alpha and Omega, Rugrats, and the upcoming Norm of the North) from a screenplay written by award-winning producer/ writer David J. Corbett (The Legend of Prince Valiant, Pink Panther & Pals). RGH Entertainment’s Randa Ayoubi and David Corbett are serving as executive producers.
RGH recently announced it has partnered with Unique Features on a new film. Based on Sir Paul McCartney’s children’s book, High in the Clouds is a 3D CGI stereoscopic animated feature film about a squirrel’s quest to find a fabled animal sanctuary called Animalia. The book is written by McCartney, Geoff Dunbar and Philip Ardagh,
High in the Clouds is now in development with McCartney composing a number of original songs for the film. Tony Bancroft (Bunyan & Babe, Mulan) will direct the feature from a screenplay adapted from the book by Josh Klausner (Shrek Forever After, Date Night). High in the Clouds is being produced by Unique’s Michael Lynne and Bob Shaye, with RGH’s Randa Ayoubi and David Corbett serving as executive producers.
