Toronto, Canada – Peace Point Rights has announced its slate for MIPCOM 2013, including new scripted and lifestyle series, documentaries and features.
Both produced and distributed by Peace Point are: Food Truck Face Off (1×60’), Colin and Justin’s Cabin Pressure (13×30’) and Frontier Vets (13×30’). Other highlights include The DNA of GSP; and Played, which comes from Muse Entertainment and Back Alley Productions, represented by Peace Point in Latin America, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia.
In Food Truck Face Off, four teams duke it out for the ultimate prize – their very own customised food truck for one full year. Teams pitch their ideas to a panel of judges who select the top two teams that get to move on to putting their concepts to the test for two frenzied days of selling. The dream comes true for the team that makes the most profits.
Colin and Justin’s Cabin Pressure is a new lifestyle series where interior designers Colin McAllister and Justin Ryan transform a fixer-upper lakeside cottage into a rural sanctuary worthy of Hollywood stars.
Frontier Vets is a lifestyle series about running an animal clinic in a remote community proves a professional and personal journey for eight final year vet students.
From Muse Entertainment and Back Alley Productions, represented by Peace Point in Latin America, Bulgaria, Ukraine, Romania, Slovakia and Slovenia are Played (13×60’) – a scripted procedural drama following an elite undercover police unit as it infiltrates impenetrable criminal circles and the feature length documentary JFK: The Smoking Gun(1×90’ and 1×60’) which looks at the assassination of John F. Kennedy through forensic analysis conducted by Australia’s top homicide detective, Colin McLaren, to solve the greatest cold case mystery of all time.
Additional highlights include The DNA of GSP (1×90’ documentary, 2×60’ mini-series) – a documentary about the life and career of UFC’s reigning welterweight, Mixed Martial Arts champion George St-Pierre. And, from Canada’s premier promoter of mixed martial arts (MMA) Hard Knocks Fighting Championship, Peace Point is bringing over 80 hours of past live-action MMA fighting content.
New feature films include:
The Child (1×106’ feature) – a thriller where a defence attorney’s mysterious client turns out to be a ten-year-old boy who believes he was a murderer in a former life.
Crave (1×108’ feature) – a photographer, hardened by a gruesome job as a crime scene photographer, becomes entangled in his imagination when his vigilante fantasies turn into a dark and twisted reality.
The Knife That Killed Me (1×100’ feature) – adapted from the best-selling book, the gripping and topical story about peer pressure, bullying and the tragic consequences that can occur. Shot and created entirely in a ‘green screen’ studio, it’s a story of a teen who must figure out who is real friends and enemies are.
Outpost 11 (1×92’ feature) – is the story of three soldier manning a remote listening post in the Arctic Circle whose world is plunged into chaos when the warning light goes off unexpectedly.
The Rapture (1×90’ feature) – a fast-paced and slick gangster race against time where an organized heist triggers the Second Coming that threatens to uncover the truth behind the Knights Templar and The Holy Grail and bring the end of days.
