Paris – MIPCOM has announced the presence of the Vice President of Argentina, Lic. Amado Boudou, who will address the MIPCOM 2013 LATAM Global Dealmakers Lunch and lead his country’s delegation as part of the Argentina Country of Honour programme at MIPCOM.
The 2nd LATAM Global Dealmakers Lunch will bring together 150 of the most influential TV and entertainment executives driving international co-productions in Latin America, with a focus on the world-class television and film production industry of Argentina.
This top-level, invitation-only networking event will also feature addresses from Liliana Mazure, President of the Argentine National Film Board (INCAA – Instituto Nacional de Cine y Artes Audiovisuales); and Emilio Romano, President of Telemundo Media.
Hosted for the second year in a row in partnership with Telemundo Internacional, and this year with INCAA, the lunch will take place on October 8 as part of the MIPCOM 2013 content market.
The Argentina Country of Honour programme, presented by MIPCOM, in partnership with INCAA and Argentina’s Ministerio de Relaciones Exteriores, includes a week-long focus on Argentine TV, a content showcase at MIPJunior, a Fresh TV From Argentina screening, an industry overview, high-level conference sessions with top executives, as well as matchmaking events with Argentine producers.
“We are honoured to welcome Vice President Amado Boudou to MIPCOM to inaugurate Argentina’s Country of Honour celebration,” said Paul Zilk, Chief Executive of Reed MIDEM. “Argentina is recognised worldwide for its award-winning TV and film production industry. This year’s country focus provides a perfect platform to showcase business opportunities with the Argentine industry and present the scope of Argentina’s content and unique storytelling, across all genres, to more than 13,000 international entertainment executives from 100 countries.”
MIPCOM is expecting the largest delegation of Argentine producers in the history of the market, including up to 150 independent producers from across the country who will come together in the Argentina Audiovisual Pavilion. INCAA will also host “Espacio Argentino,” a welcome pavilion on the Croisette Village beach front, intended as a special event space for TV executives to learn more about co-production opportunities in Argentina. Exhibiting companies at MIPCOM from Argentina include Artear, Telefe, CMD, Telefilms Argentina, America Video Films and Fans World TV.
