TIME has announced the launch of Red Border Films, a new documentary filmmaking unit and interactive digital platform on Time.com, featuring films reported by TIME journalists and photojournalists.
Red Border Films commences this week with a look back, 50 years later, at the March on Washington and Martin Luther King Jr.’s “I have a dream” speech. This “One Dream” project goes live on Thursday, along with a TIME cover story on the subject. “One Dream” will feature nearly one hour of original video by TIME photographer and filmmaker Marco Grob and includes interviews with 17 participants from the movement, from John Lewis to Joan Baez to Harry Belafonte.
Red Border Films will draw on TIME’s network of photojournalists, filmmakers and other contributors to produce both short documentaries and expanded films, presented along with interactive features online, where users will be able to watch films, explore in-depth information about the filmmakers and their subjects and view photo galleries and other multimedia elements around each project.
