Network Ten announced the appointment of Stuart Thomas as General Counsel, effective August 8, 2013. Thomas is a former Director of Legal and Regulatory Affairs and Chief Operating Officer at Macquarie Radio Network, and a former General Counsel at Nine Network.

Network Ten Chief Executive Officer, Hamish McLennan, said, “Stuart is one of the best lawyers in media in Australia and we are very happy that he has agreed to join Ten. In his new role, Stuart will be responsible for Ten’s legal and commercial arrangements. He will play a key role in our continuing sport and content rights negotiations.”

Thomas said, “I am thrilled to be joining Hamish and his team at a time of clear momentum at Ten. The company has been very active in recent months and has demonstrated a real commitment to building its sport portfolio and other new content.”

Network Ten Chief Operating Officer Jon Marquard has resigned. “We thank Jon for his contribution to the company,” McLennan said.
