Hong Kong and Paris – Guillaume Soutter, co-owner and co-founder of leading kids programming distributor and brand manager PGS Entertainment, has founded a new Hong Kong-based company, PGS H.K. Ltd. The newly-formed company will follow PGS Entertainment’s primary model and represent leading kids programming and brand rights owners around the world, with a focus on kids animation.
PGS H.K. Ltd. will utilise its strategic base to better support PGS Entertainment’s present catalogue of titles throughout Asia, seek out opportunities to work with Asian content producers, and provide direct manufacturing support to PGS Entertainment’s growing licensing and merchandising businesses.
“Asia has been a key part of PGS’s development over the past five years. By establishing a permanent presence and dedicated staff in Hong Kong we are able to provide producers we work with the kind of representation they need in the region while being closer to our growing Asian client base,” said Guillaume Soutter, President of PGS HK Limited. “The Asian animation market is booming and we are excited to have the opportunity to forge new relationships with some of the incredibly creative content producers here, as well as provide regional support to intellectual property owners who want to develop and manufacture their own merchandise lines.”
“The producers we represent have been coming back to us with bigger budgets, bigger brands, and bigger ratings – all of which present bigger opportunities,” said Philippe Soutter, President and CEO, PGS Entertainment. “This is an extraordinary dynamic to be offered to producers providing even more tailor-made international presence.”
The first order of business for PGS H.K. Ltd will be to represent the entire PGS library where it holds Asian rights, including Method Animation’s Heroes United and the third season of The Little Prince; A Squared Entertainment’s Secret Kidventure Club, Stan Lee’s Mighty 7 Trilogy and Thomas Edison’s Secret Lab; TAT Productions’ Spike movies and The Jungle Bunch; Samka Productions’ Marsupilami, Joke Box, and One Minute Before; La Station Animation’s Mister Otter; and Studio Hari’s Leon and Gees.
In addition to television distribution rights, PGS Entertainment continues to expand its brand management services. Earlier this year, the company announced a global licensing programme for The Jungle Bunch and PGS H.K. Ltd will be announcing new brand licensing partnerships soon.
