Deutsche Welle has introduced Vietnamese subtitles on its core programming from its English language channel. Audiences in Vietnam will be able to access DW’s content including award-winning documentaries, as well as programmes like In Focus (daily), Tomorrow Today, Drive it!, Discover Germany, Kino, Global 3000, Arts 21 and In Good Shape with Vietnamese subtitles.

“We already have a great standing among audiences in Vietnam, so I’m delighted with this new opportunity. We hope that this will help us to extend our relationship with Vietnamese audiences even further,” said Petra Schneider, DW’s Director of Distribution.

DW programmes like Euromaxx, Bundesliga Kick off!, Tomorrow Today, In Good Shape and Drive it! will also be broadcast with Vietnamese voice-overs via co-branded blocks on VTV and K+.

“DW’s collaboration with local broadcasters has certainly enhanced our relevance with Vietnamese viewers. We are also pleased to see healthy growth in the distribution of our DW Transtel catalogue in Vietnam over the last few years,” added Schneider. “This not only demonstrates the interest of Vietnamese audiences towards our programming, but in the DW brand in general.”
