Based on a full week viewing, Disney Channel’s Teen Beach Movie surged by more than five million total viewers to become the No. 2 movie in total viewers (13.53 million) and the No. 2 cable TV telecast of all time across Kids 2-11 (7.94 million/20.0 rating), Kids 6-11 (6.37/27.0 rating) and Tweens 9-14 (5.11 million/21.5 rating), behind only High School Musical 2. 

The Disney Channel Original Movie franchise has now produced five of the top six movies in cable TV history in total viewers.

Disney’s other top-performing telecasts include Phineas and Ferb: Across the 2nd Dimension and Sofia the First: Once Upon a Princess. 

In the Live + 7 versus Live + Same Day, categories, Teen Beach Movie grew by 61% in total viewers (13.53 million vs. 8.39 million), by 73% in Kids 2-11 (7.94 million vs. 4.59 million), by 64% in Kids 6-11 (6.37 million vs. 3.89 million) and by 51% in Tweens 9-14 (5.11 million vs. 3.39 million).
