Miami – BBC Worldwide, the commercial arm and a wholly-owned subsidiary of the BBC, has announced details of the 10th edition of the BBC Showcase Latin America, the region’s only television marketplace hosted by a single distributor. The annual event will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, from August 18 to August 20 2013 at the Windsor Atlântica Hotel in Copacabana.
BBC Showcase Latin America will once again welcome broadcasters and buyers from across the region for exclusive screenings of BBC Worldwide’s latest programmes. In addition to the BBC’s catalogue of content in several genres, this year’s marketplace will include the participation of special guests including Jonathan Goodwin from the BBC Worldwide distributed series: Dangerman: The Incredible Mr. Goodwin; Lucinda Axelsson, series producer from the award-winning BBC Natural History Unit, and Alvaro Paes de Barros, Head of Content for YouTube in Brazil. In addition to this, Brazilian Doctor Who fans will also join Showcase for a special session, as part of the celebration around the 50th anniversary of the world’s longest running sci-fi series.

BBC Worldwide will unveil a line-up packed full of entertainment: from comedy thriller The Wrong Mans, rich British dramas, Da Vinci’s Demons, New BBC America drama hit Orphan Black, Dangerman: The Incredible Mr. Goodwin, an animated series called Sarah and Duck, to cutting-edge natural history programmes like Deadly 60 S3, Bill Bailey’s Jungle Adventure and Great Bear Stakeout. In the science arena, the highlight will be Rise of the Continent and Generation Earth.
