This is the eighth consecutive year that BBC Worldwide Productions’ Dancing with the Stars has received a nomination in the “Outstanding Reality-Competition Program” category.
Additionally, Dancing with the Stars’ host, Emmy-winning Tom Bergeron, was nominated in the “Outstanding Host for a Reality or Reality-Competition Program” category for the fourth year in a row. Dancing with the Stars’ professional ballroom dancer and choreographer, Derek Hough, received two nominations this year for his work on Dancing with the Stars. Hough has now received a total of 5 nominations in the “Outstanding Choreography” category since the show’s inception. Hector Ramirez received a nomination for his work in the “Technical Direction, Camerawork, Video Control For A Series” category, ushering him to a new record of 71 career nominations – the most of any individual in Emmy history.
Also, Da Vinci’s Demons, produced by Adjacent Productions, received three Creative Arts nominations from the Television Academy for its premiere season on Starz.

Dancing with the Stars is the U.S. version of the BBC’s international smash hit series, Strictly Come Dancing, where celebrities are paired with professional ballroom dance instructors and compete for a coveted Mirrorball trophy. Dancing with the Stars is produced by BBC Worldwide Productions for ABC. The fan-favourite has garnered 64 Emmy nominations and ten wins since its inception, breaking the Emmy record in 2009, 2012 and 2013 for the most nominations for a non-fiction programme in a single award year. DWTS has also been honoured with various main programme awards including the GLAAD Media Award, NAACP Award, Realscreen Award, Imagen Award, and two People’s Choice Awards. Veteran host Tom Bergeron has also been honoured with two Critics Choice Awards in addition to taking home the 64th Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Host. Dancing with the Stars premieres its 17th season on ABC September 16th.
Da Vinci’s Demons is produced by Adjacent Productions for Starz and is David Goyer’s historical fantasy, following the “untold” story of the world’s greatest genius during his raucous youth in Renaissance Florence.With more than 2.14 million total viewers on the opening weekend, Da Vinci’s Demons established a new all-time high for a STARZ Original series premiere. The series is currently in production on Season 2.
