Beijing – China’s Long March 3B (LM-3B) launch vehicle successfully sent the ChinaSat 11 telecommunications satellite into the predetermined orbit from Xichang Satellite Launch Center (XSLC). Based upon the DFH-4 platform developed by China on its own, the satellite was designed and manufactured by China Academy of Space Technology (CAST) under China Aerospace Science and Technology Corporation (CASC). It is the 14th geostationary satellite operated and managed by China Satellite Communications Co. Ltd. (China Satcom).
ChinaSat 11, with 45 transponders of C-band and Ku-band, is capable to satisfy the demands of communications, broadcasting, data transmission and digital broadband media services, especially in the Asia-Pacific region. CSCC and CALT are all subsidiaries of China Aerospace Science & Technology Corporation (CASC). The launch marks the 176th flight of Long March series launch vehicles.
