TRACE Group is celebrating the company’s 10 year anniversary as its expansion continues; following on from a new deal in one of Europe’s fastest growing TV markets.
It’s most recent agreement saw it sign a carriage deal with Türksat. As part of the deal, HD channels TRACE Sports and TRACE Urban will both be available to customers with Türksat’s ‘Ust Paket’ premium package. Türksat is the second Turkish operator to distribute TRACE Urban after TT NET (Turk Telecom). This is the first launch in Turkey for TRACE Sports, adding a new language in which the channel is available, bringing it to a total of 11.
The company also plans to debut the launch of new services online and on mobile platforms, including personalised, smart TV music service MyTRACE; a new TRACE website; TRACE Mobile; TRACE Music and TRACE Sports apps for iPad, iPhone and Android, as well as the TRACE Urban Music Awards set to take place May 14.
TRACE Sports, the newest addition to the portfolio of TRACE, sits alongside TRACE Urban, TRACE Tropical and TRACE Africa, with the four brands making up 15 pay-TV and digital platforms which are available in more than 145 countries. The new deal with Türksat continues TRACE Sports’ rapid expansion and it has signed successful carriage deals with some of the world’s TV operators, including the UK’s BskyB, DStv in South Africa, Aljazeera in the Middle East, and Megacable in Latin America.
Olivier Laouchez, CEO of TRACE Group, said “The global roll-out of TRACE Sports has been nothing short of remarkable. In terms of a new channel launch, TRACE Sports must be the fastest acquired new TV channel globally by operators considering the very quick rate in which TRACE Sports landed on platforms in Europe, Asia, Africa and Latin America. We are also expecting to launch in the US within the next couple of months.”
