Passion Distribution has announced that its newly acquired title Prospectors (9×30’), which launched at MIPTV, has been licensed to National Geographic Channels International (NGCI) as part of a large pan-regional deal covering 171 countries.
The agreement covers Europe, Asia, Africa, Australia, Latin America and the Middle East. It premiered on The Weather Channel on March 26 and was produced by High Noon Entertainment.
The series follows a group of miners who are searching for rare gems in order to strike it rich. And strike it rich they do! The excavated gems are rarer than diamonds, more valuable than gold and far more difficult to mine. One of these fist-sized gems can bring $3 million or more. However, these modern day prospectors risk life and limb daily as they face extreme climates, weather and other perilous conditions in every step of their pursuit.
Sally Miles, CEO of Passion Distribution said, “We are extremely happy to have concluded such a large deal for the series. It really highlights the strength of the show and showcases the faith National Geographic has in its success internationally.”
