Cannes – FremantleMedia International has acquired global distribution rights to the follow up series to Half the Sky: Turning Oppression into Opportunity, set to be produced by Show of Force Productions. The 4-hour series, inspired by the books by New York Times columnist Nicholas Kristof and Pulitzer Prize-winner Sheryl WuDunn, will be available to buyers at MIPTV 2013.
The series has been sold to 18 broadcasters across 138 territories including Foxtel for Australia; M-Net for Africa and South Africa; Sixx for Germany and Austria; and Discovery Networks for across Latin America.
