Paris – MIPTV has announced a star-studded line-up for MIPTV 2013’s Opening Party on April 8. The red-carpet will be rolled-out in front of the Martinez Hotel to welcome the stars and VIP guests at the Opening Party, as well as for the International Digital Emmy Awards ceremony.
The line-up of stars include Thandie Newton (Crash, Beloved, Mission: Impossible II); Famke Janssen (X-Men, Taken); member of the iconic rock band KISS, Gene Simmons; Eli Roth (Inglorious Basterds, Hostel); French actors Christophe Lambert (Greystoke, NCIS: Los Angeles) and Clotilde Courau (La Vie en Rose); Mark Strong (Zero Dark Thirty, Sherlock Holmes); British actor Max Irons(The Host, Red Riding Hood); and Caterina Murino (Casino Royale).
Newton will attend the market to present Entertainment One (eOne)’s series Rogue, co-produced with Greenroom Entertainment while Janssen will grace the Croisette and present Gaumont International Television’s new thriller Hemlock Grove to international buyers and press. Janssen will be escorted by the series’ executive producer and renowned actor/director Eli Roth and Swedish actor Bill Skarsgård.
Also on April 8, Starz’s much-awaited new series Da Vinci’s Demons will have its World Premiere TV Screening, in the presence of its writer, executive producer and co-director, David S. Goyer — co-writer of critically-acclaimed blockbusters The Dark Knight trilogy and Man of Steel — as well as British actors Tom Riley (Monroe, Arcadia, Bouquet of Barbed Wire), Laura Haddock (The Inbetweeners Movie, Upstairs, Downstairs, Missing), Lara Pulver (True Blood, Spooks), and Blake Ritson (Rock’n Rolla, Hyde Park on Hudson ). Following the “untold” story of Leonardo Da Vinci during his early years in Renaissance Florence, Da Vinci’s Demons is produced by Adjacent Productions for Starz and is being sold internationally by BBC Worldwide at MIPTV.
