London – KidsCo has announced a partnership with NBCUniversal’s channel, Syfy, to launch a dedicated programming block: Syfy Kids. This unique genre-based kids’ programming block is a first from Syfy and aims to deliver stimulating and imaginative entertainment to children aged six to ten.
The fully dubbed Syfy Kids block will launch in the second quarter of 2013. The programming line-up will include imagination-based content from both NBCUniversal and Corus Entertainment, the joint venture owners of KidsCo, as well as original programming and third-party acquisitions.
Managing Director of KidsCo, Hendrik McDermott, said: “Following KidsCo’s refresh earlier this year, we are now able to innovate to harness the power of our partners and shareholders. Collaborating with NBCUniversal and Corus Entertainment to bring imagination-based content via the well-known and respected Syfy brand really demonstrates our dedication to delivering the strongest channel to our affiliates, whilst differentiating ourselves from our competitors.”
