Barcelona – The signing of a co-production agreement between Catalan producers TV3, Neptuno Films and Benecé Produccions with Chinese company AGOGO for the animated series The Story Isn’t Over Yet (26×13′), marks a significant step for Catalonia’s kids’ content production sector.
Managing Director of Neptuno Films, Cristina Brandner, believes the deal marks the beginning of an alliance that has huge potential.
“Catalonian producers have a long and well-proven track record in kids’ programming, which is one of the reasons that AGOGO wanted to partner with Neptuno Films, TELEVISIÓ DE CATALUNYA and Benecé Produccions on this series,” said Brandner. “And as we move forward into producing the first episodes, we are of course hopeful that this is just the first stage of a long and fruitful relationship. We are delighted to be working with such an illustrious group of partners on a project that features charming, witty and engaging characters who have family ties to globally famous names such as Little Red Riding Hood and Pinocchio.”
The Story Isn’t Over Yet revolves around a chubby boy called Ricky who unwillingly ends up in a magical world of fairy tales. At first sight, Ricky doesn’t like this new, and rather weird place and would rather go home to his mum. This fairy tale world, however, has little to do with the classic fairy tales from our youth; It’s a modern world with computers and videogames. The famous fairy tale characters who live there have grown up, become parents and have “proper” jobs. But just like in the old days, magic still ensues. Ricky’s best friend and guide in this magical place is Lil’ Red Hood, the rebellious teenage daughter of Little Red Riding Hood. She introduces Ricky to the ins and outs of her fairy tale world and makes him realize that it is actually a lot of fun.
