Michael Carrington
Michael Carrington is leaving his current position as Chief Content Officer of Turner Broadcasting System (TBS) EMEA to join children’s producer and distributor, HIT Entertainment. Carrington will assume the newly created position of Head of Content and Production at HIT Global Brands.
Carrington, who joined Turner in 2010 from CBeebies, will be based in HIT’s London office, where he will be responsible for enhancing HIT’s centre of excellence for content and development, reporting into Edward Catchpole.
Carrington departs TBS EMEA amidst several changes in the company. Two days ago, it was announced that international television executive Giorgio Stock will join Turner International as President of Turner Broadcasting System EMEA, effective April 2013. Last month, TBS International also announced plans to restructure its EMEA business, which will result in a 30% reduction in positions upon completion of the process.
As President of TBS EMEA, Stock will have executive oversight for all entertainment and kids networks and media services offered in Europe, Middle East and Africa, the distribution and commercial operations of CNN’s services in that region, and all licensing and merchandising activity in EMEA.
Stock joins Turner after a 15-year career at Disney, most recently as Executive Vice President & General Manager of Disney Consumer Products, Publishing and Retail, EMEA.
