Get Squiggling Letters
Beyond Distribution has acquired two more children’s titles from UK producer Dot To Dot Productions – Totally Rubbish and Get Squiggling Letters. Beyond will launch these two new series, commissioned for CBBC and CBeebies respectively, at MIPTV in April.
Totally Rubbish (10 x 30’) is an art show where presenters Michelle Ackerley and Nigel Clarke turn worthless trash into creative and useful stuff. The series focuses on recycling, upcycling and repurposing and is packed full of original and cool ideas. The series shows kids great ways to prank their mates, gain inspiration from amazing recycled material artists who create incredible works of art and create astonishing things from just a bin full of rubbish.
Get Squiggling Letters (26 x 7’) is based on the iconic series Get Squiggling, also distributed by Beyond. Squiglet shows the audience how to write a different letter of the alphabet every day. Using his trusty Squiggle Pad and Squiggle Sticks the letter comes to life and leaps off the page. Squiglet then draws three quirky items beginning with the letter of the day. In each episode there is a catchy ‘Alphabet Song’ as well as ‘real world’ footage where we see children writing their letters. Get Squiggling Letters was born out of the fact many children have learned to form their letters incorrectly before starting school, so this series shows children and parents the best practice in a fun and exciting way.
“Get Squiggling Letters is a natural extension of the Get Squiggling brand and is a perfect example of educational content presented in a way that makes it fun and easy for children to learn. We’re very excited about Totally Rubbish. It’s a refreshing take on repurposing items and materials which would normally be thrown out or put in the recycling bin, and the objects created are genuinely cool and funky,” said Yvonne Body, Head of Acquisitions for Beyond.
