Los Angeles – Global production and distribution company, Sierra/Engine Television, has acquired the format rights to SBS International’s Korean revenge drama series, Cruel Temptation. Sierra/Engine is teaming up with former Sony SVP Brendan Fitzgerald’s company, Pomodoro Stories, on the development of a Spanish language format for the U.S. Hispanic and Latin American markets and the English-speaking U.S. market.

We are looking forward to working with Sierra/Engine and Global Content Group in seeing Cruel Temptation developed in both English and Spanish versions,” said, Yunjeung Jo, President of SBS International.
Cruel Temptation achieved high ratings in Korea with over 129 episodes. The series clinched the top spot on SBS in viewers halfway during its run until the final episode according to Korean audience research company, TNmS. In addition, the series has been successfully remade in both China and the Philippines.
