London – Pilot Productions, producer of travel and adventure factual programming, has secured a number of sales in several territories.
Launched at MIPCOM 2012, Globe Trekker: Round The World Series (8 x 52″), a miniseries devised to celebrate the 20th anniversary of its flagship Globe Trekker, has been acquired by Greek public broadcaster ERT, and licensed to Thai public broadcaster Thai PBS. Both companies have also acquired Globe Trekker Season 16 (13 x 52’).
Produced in HD, Globe Trekker is a series that documents the journeys of travel guides as they sample local delicacies, stay in traditional lodgings and interact with locals in ways that bring the destinations to life.
In addition, several deals were also concluded with Wealth TV, a U.S. cable television network, for Ottomans vs Christians: Battle for the Mediterranean (6 x 26’), a series revealing the story of the mighty Ottoman Empire, as well as Historic Walks (3 x 26’) which explores some of the world’s most fascinating districts tracing unique and famous footpaths where history was made and Metropolis (4 x 26’) a travel and architectural series offering a guide to the architecture, design, and urban style of some of the most recognizable cities in the world.
