Following AMC’s Season 4 renewal of The Walking Dead, FOX International Channels (FIC) has confirmed the global pick up of the show for a fourth season. FIC will follow its global release model as in previous years, making the series available in all major international TV markets while season 3 returns this February with eight additional episodes after the mid-season hiatus.
According to reports, AMC has also announced the departure of Executive Producer and Showrunner of The Walking Dead, Glenn Mazzara, who had guided the series creatively for seasons 2 and 3.
“The two parties have mutually decided to part ways,” AMC said in a statement. “Both parties acknowledge that there is a difference of opinion about where the show should go moving forward, and conclude that it is best to part ways. This decision is amicable and Glen will remain on for post-production on season 3B as showrunner and executive producer.”
In addition, it was reported that the news did not come as a surprise to Mazzara, who felt that “it’s time to move on.”
“I have told the stories I wanted to tell and connected with our fans on a level that I never imagined. It doesn’t get much better than that. Thank you to everyone who has been a part of this journey,” said Mazzara.
