(HBO’s Game Change is the most nominated television programme with five nods.)
Singapore – The Hollywood Foreign Press has announced the nominations for the 70th Annual Golden Globe Awards, which takes place on January 13, 2013, in Los Angeles.
HBO Asia received 17 nominations, the most of any television network for the 12th year in a row. Game Change was the most-nominated programme with five nods while The Girl received three nominations. HBO Original series Boardwalk Empire, Girls, The Newsroom and the HBO Original Movie Hemingway & Gellhorn each had two nominations while VEEP received one nomination.
FOX International Channels Asia followed closely behind, scoring nominations for Homeland, Mad Men, 30 Rock, New Girl, Episodes, American Horror Story: Asylum and Modern Family. Among these, Homeland is up for the Best Television Series – Drama award while Episodes and Modern Family received nods in the Best Television Series – Comedy or Musical category.
Universal Networks International in Asia also garnered several nominations, including Best Television Series – Drama for Downton Abbey: Season 2 and Best Television Series – Comedy for Smash.
In total, 25 awards are up for grabs – 11 for television and 15 for film. Tina Fey (30 Rock) and Amy Poehler (Parks and Recreation) will serve as hosts for the 2013 awards ceremony.
