Channel 4 has commissioned Endemol’s Remarkable Television to produce The Common Denominator, a brand new game show that dares contestants to think differently. The format was originally devised by Roey Even-Tov and Omri Even-Tov, in partnership with Armoza Formats, and was sold to Channel 4 by the Israeli format company.
To be presented by Phil Spencer, the game show will see contestants outwitting their opponents to find the common denominator between two seemingly random things.
David Flynn, Managing Director of Remarkable Television comments, “When you watch The Common Denominator, you can’t stop yourself playing along. Viewers are always looking for something different, and the blend of wit and lateral thinking makes this show unique.”
“We are extremely pleased to be able to announce the commissioning of Common Denominator. Its compelling mix of lateral thinking and superlative general knowledge make it a great fit for the channel. And with Phil Spencer at the helm, we hope it will really resonate with our daytime audiences,” says David Sayer, Commissioning Editor at Channel 4.
The Common Denominator, to be executive produced by David Flynn, James Fox and Richard Hague, will air early in 2013.
