Turner will consolidate its three existing Japan entities into one—Turner Japan. This simplifies the business structure and consolidates all Japan-based employees into one company. The new company will be led by Tom Perry, who will assume the role General Manager of Turner Japan, and will be responsible for Turner’s kids, entertainment and news distribution business in Japan.
Effective April 2013, the reorganisation will see employees of Turner International Japan Inc. and Japan Image Communications Co. Ltd (JIC) transferred to Japan Entertainment Network K.K. (JEN), which will be renamed Turner Japan. JIC, however, will continue its operations until December 2013, and after that will be merged into Turner Japan in January 2014.
“This important and timely corporate reorganisation is the next step in the development of our thriving and admired Japan business. As a leading foreign player in the Japanese cable and satellite channel industry, this positions us optimally to take on future growth opportunities and further increase efficiency,” said Steve Marcopoto, President, Turner International Asia Pacific, Limited.
