AETN All Asia Networks announced that Mankind The Story of All of Us, a 6-part series about the history of humanity, is slated to premiere globally on November 14 on HISTORY. Acclaimed actor and Oscar nominee Josh Brolin (Milk, No Country for Old Men and the upcoming Gangster Squad) will narrate the English language version while Datuk Jalaludin Hassan, a Malaysian actor and host of the Malaysian version of Who Wants To Be a Millionaire? will voice the Malay language version.
“This ambitious television series captures the complex nature of man. How we as a species succeeded, shaped the world and thrived against all odds,” says Josh Brolin. “HISTORY has always been committed to developing superb productions, combined with compelling educational programs that strive to inspire people to learn more about our world.”
Dato’ Jalaludin Hassan is a veteran Malaysian born actor, renowned for his many movie and drama roles in the Malaysian film industry. He is well known for being the host of Who Wants To Be A Millionaire?, Astana Idaman and Ringgit Kasorga, among others.
HISTORY says the programme is Over two years in the making, making it one of the most in-depth television series ever produced by the network. Mankind will have the first global series premiere in the history of the network, as well as a worldwide educational initiative.
“Mankind The Story of All of Us is truly a remarkable undertaking by HISTORY. The series will redefine history as we know it for people throughout the world – how it’s told, how it’s watched, and how it’s experienced; and by having renowned actors like Dato’ Jalaludin Hassan to narrate this in Bahasa Malaysia, we can make this amazing series accessible to all Malaysians” said Louis Boswell, General Manager, AETN All Asia Networks.
HISTORY is once again working with the Nutopia production team, led by executive producers Jane Root and Ben Goold, the same team that made America The Story Of The US an Emmy-winning triumph in 2010 and the most-watched special in the network’s history.
