London, UK – KidsCo, the international children’s channel, has acquired the rights to marine animation, Shelldon. The deal will see the series, from Shellhut Entertainment, fully dubbed and aired globally across all KidsCo territories from November 2012.
Hendrik McDermott, Managing Director of KidsCo, comments: “Shelldon is a series with a unique appeal for our audience of 6 to 10 year-olds; the acquisition supports our commitment to sourcing international content that resonates with children around the world.”
Shelldon was created by Bangkok-based Shellhut Entertainment, headed up by executive producer and director Dr. Jirayuth Chusanachoti, in collaboration with studios in Hollywood, Canada, UK, Singapore, Taiwan and Thailand.
The series (26 x 22’) follows the adventures of Shelldon the Shellfish, and his friends, in their quest to make the world a better and greener place. Set in a small reef community called Shell Land, the animation also covers the universally relatable themes of growing up, getting along with family and neighbours, and living in an ever-changing world.
