ABS-CBN receives nods from ABU Prizes 2012

September 4, 2012 by TVA Editor

ABS-CBN’s drama anthology Maalaala Mo Kaya, primetime newscast TV Patrol, and AM radio station DZMM were the only Philippine entries named as finalists in the Asia Pacific Broadcasting Union (ABU) Prizes 2012, which includes Jury Prize categories for both radio and television.

Out of 166 television and 76 radio entries from 18 territories and 25 organisations, ABS-CBN bagged finalist spots in five different categories and is the sole representative of the Philippines in the awards.

Maalaala Mo Kaya episode titled T-Shirt is competing with entries from Bhutan, Vietnam, Indonesia, Mongolia, and Sri Lanka for the Television Special Jury Prize category, while DZMM’s Silveradyo Station ID is pitted against entries from Bangladesh, Indonesia, Vietnam and Bhutan for the Radio Special Jury Prize category.

Winners will be revealed during the awarding ceremony to be held on October 16 during the union’s general assembly in Seoul, South Korea.
