Hong Kong – ITV Granada, part of ITV STUDIOS, has unveiled plans to broadcast the channel in HD on MEASAT-3 from September. It will join the MEASAT-3 HD video distribution platform at 91.5°E for viewers across Asia and the Middle East.
Given the rapid expansion of the channel since its 2009 launch, the move to HD will strengthen the programme offering to pay-TV platforms across the region. Audiences will soon be able to enjoy an enhanced viewing experience with premium, first run HD original productions, such as Lewis, Vera, Poirot and I’m A Celebrity…Get Me Out Of Here, fresh from UK schedules.
Augustus Dulgaro, SVP Asia Pacific, ITV STUDIOS Global Entertainment, comments; “With so much of ITV’s large and diverse catalogue being produced in native HD, we are delighted to announce ITV Granada’s move to HD on the MEASAT platform. With this increased ease of access for our channel distribution partners, ITV Granada viewers will now be able to enjoy the benefits of our improved services, at the highest possible quality.”
