Singapore – ESPN STAR Sports (ESS) has entered into a cricket distribution agreement for Australia with FOX SPORTS to carry the world’s premier ICC events through to 2015.
This extends ESPN STAR Sports’ syndication and distribution of premium ICC events to more than 218 markets across the globe. The partnership follows ESS’ recent agreements with ESPN International for the Caribbean and Latin America, in addition to Pakistan Television Corporation for ICC events earlier this year.
The latest agreement with FOX SPORTS is a four-year deal from 2012 to 2015 and covers several ICC events, including the upcoming ICC World Twenty 20 in Sri Lanka from September 18-October 7, right through to the 2015 ICC Cricket World Cup in Australia and New Zealand.
FOX SPORTS will provide LIVE coverage of each tournament during the three-year agreement, including every match of the 2012 and 2014 ICC World T20 events, plus every match in both the 2013 Champions Trophy and 2015 Cricket World Cup.
In addition to subscription television coverage by FOX SPORTS, Channel Nine will bring Australia’s FTA viewers the action from all the big games in the 2012 and 2014 World T20 tournaments and again for the 2015 Cricket World Cup on home soil.
