BBC Worldwide Productions India is presenting the first Indian edition of the BBC makeover series – What Not To Wear – on Indian lifestyle channel, TLC.
Drawing on the talent of actor Soha Ali Khan and acclaimed stylist Aki Narula, What Not To Wear India inspires style-challenged participants to trade in their drab for fab. The 13-part series will air every night at 10 pm starting September 3 on TLC.
What Not To Wear is a fashion makeover show focusing on women and bringing back the importance of design, style and colours into their lives. Each week, one person – secretly nominated by their partner, friends or colleagues – experiences the trauma and joy of learning what not to wear in a process that includes secret filming, an examination of their current wardrobe, and a frank discussion of their natural assets.
Myleeta Aga, General Manager and Creative Head, BBC Worldwide Productions India, said: “What Not To Wear is a long running success in the U.S. where they are on their 10th series and has been produced locally in Russia, Brazil and Australia amongst others. We expect this format to be highly entertaining for Indian audiences and add a whole new dimension to lifestyle programming in the country.”
BBC Worldwide has also licensed What Not To Wear to the U.S. (TLC), South Africa (SABC2), Russia (CTC), Brazil (SBT), Italy (Discovery Realtime), Norway (SBS) and Australia (Channel Seven).
