Turner International Asia Pacific Inc and YBM Education, South Korea’s largest English education institution, have announced that CNN Café has expanded to two more locations in South Korea. This announcement follows the success of the world’s first CNN Café last year in Seoul, inside the Jongno and Kimpo branch of the Young Poong Bookstores, and the subsequent opening of the second CNN Café inside the campus grounds of Myongji and Hanyang University.
With seating for more than 200 people, the latest CNN Café opened on July 2 at the heart of the Gangnam Station, a key commercial and entertainment district and one of the busiest locations in Seoul. CNN Café also opened its first café outside of Seoul in Busan, the second largest city in South Korea.
Both locations will provide coffee and light snacks with an environment featuring CNN content across different platforms, including a live feed of the CNN International channel on a large screen, the latest CNN news wires on a digital ticker and computer terminals featuring cnn.com and cnngo.com.
In addition to the expansion of CNN Café, Turner and YBM are also opening another “CNN the Biz”, a professional meeting space that can be used for job interviews, in-house training, workshops and study groups. There are currently six “CNN the Biz” locations operating throughout Seoul, with the newest opening on July 6 in the Gangnam Station area.
The venue offers different types of professional meeting rooms for rent, from small rooms to conference rooms with a maximum occupancy of 100 people. Users have access to high-speed wireless internet, and can rent laptops, use scanners, fax machines and printers. Complimentary snacks and 40 different kinds of drinks are also available.
